Order book

Trade using the order book

Hydranet’s order book offers full trading control for users who want to place buy and sell orders at specific prices, manage liquidity, and take advantage of market conditions.

Prior to using the order book, you need to set up and fund state channels for the tokens you want to trade. You can follow this guide to prepare your channels.

Once funded, head over to the order book to start trading!

Order book walk-through

Hydranet’s order book provides a complete view of market activity and your trading. Use it to track prices, analyze liquidity, place and manage orders, and monitor your trading history all in one place. Here’s a description and an image of its constituent components:

  1. Select pair and view market statistics
Choose the trading pair you want to trade, such as HDN/USDC. Here you’ll find key market data at a glance, including current price, 24‑hour trading volume, price changes, and percentage moves, helping you make informed trading decisions.
  2. Active orders and trade history
The order book displays all active buy and sell orders placed by traders. You can also view a history of recently executed trades, giving you insight into market activity, order flow, and liquidity depth.
  3. Order book chart
A real-time candlestick chart helps you track price action, identify trends, and analyze market behavior. Since it’s powered by TradingView, you can use standard charting tools, overlays, and indicators for deeper technical analysis. Read more at tradingview.com
  4. Your open orders and trade history
This section shows all of your current open orders as well as your personal trade history. You can monitor, modify, or cancel your orders here.
  5. Available token pairs
Browse through a list of supported trading pairs. Quickly switch between markets to explore liquidity and trading opportunities across different tokens.
  6. Order settings and liquidity management
Here you set order type (market or limit), input prices and amounts, and place trades. You’ll also find tools (plus sign) to increase inbound and outbound liquidity (can receive / can send).
  7. Edit layout
Use this feature to update the order book layout to your preferred layout.

Ideas for testing

Your feedback helps us improve Hydranet’s trading experience. When testing the Order Book, you can try the following:

  • Market and limit orders: Place both order types. Do your limit orders only execute when the price hits your set level?
  • Order management: Try modifying and canceling open orders. Does the status update instantly?
  • Liquidity checks: Increase your inbound and outbound liquidity and confirm that trades execute smoothly afterwards.
  • Market exploration: Switch between different token pairs. Are statistics, charts, and order books updating correctly?
  • Trade history accuracy: Compare your executed trades in the trade history with what you expected. Are amounts and timestamps correct?
  • Chart responsiveness: Test zooming, time frames, and overlays in the TradingView chart. Do all updates reflect live market data?
  • Test with two wallets: While Hydranet maintains order book liquidity, you can gain more control over your tests by trading against yourself. Use two devices or wallets to place opposing buy and sell orders and observe how they interact.

Share your thoughts and findings with the Hydranet team in the Beta Testnet channel on Discord. If necessary, submit a support ticket for further assistance.

Good luck and happy testing!
